What inspired the brand name?
My inspiration for the name just came to me one day. I started doing designs and thought of Abiss. It evolved into Abiss Apparel and here we are today.
At what moment did you realize you wanted to start a brand?
I realized I wanted to start a brand when a buddy of mine saw some of my art and said that it would look great on a t-shirt.
What helps you get over creative blocks?
Taking breaks in between designs and just not forcing creativity. Letting the designs come naturally and flow through me.
What is the biggest mistake you have made?
Developing a website that wasn't very appealing. My first few websites looked like garbage haha.
What is the biggest success you have had?
So far, I have had a basketball player Andre Drummond wear some of my clothing. I am now doing pop-ups on Melrose.
A SOURCE OF INSPIRATION PEOPLE MAY FIND WEIRD?
Most of my inspiration comes from within, I try to get inspired from my own designs.
Favorite color to use?
Black clothing, white ink for prints. (So far)
ARE THERE ANY RETAIL SHOPS YOU WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOU BRAND IN?
Not at the moment.
ANOTHER BRAND THAT INSPIRES YOU AND WHY?
Obey is one of my biggest influencers, I grew up seeing his classic Andre the Giant stickers and posters.
WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF AND THE BRAND IN 1 YEAR AND 5 YEARS?
I see myself in 1 year having a solid customer base. In 5 years, I hope to have my own shop.
