There’s something about AKASHI-KAMA that feels effortlessly balanced—modern design meets deep cultural reference points, all wrapped in well-crafted silhouettes. The upcoming drop is no exception, highlighting their ongoing commitment to quality, fabric, and thoughtful storytelling through clothing.
First up is the Camp Collar - Sora Blue, an airy short-sleeve button-down that hits perfectly for the warmer months. The shirt leans into a soft cloud and sky blue base with traditional Japanese patchwork motifs subtly layered across the fabric. It’s detailed with ivory horn buttons and holds its own without trying too hard.
The Haori Jacket - Off White Wave might be the most versatile piece in the lineup. It’s AKASHI-KAMA’s take on a modern haori—traditional structure, but shaped for today. The wave-patterned Japanese cotton gives it movement and texture without being loud. Definitely a piece that does more the closer you look.
Then there’s the Ginkgo Leaf Hoodie in Wisteria—a standout in both color and design. The lavender tone is rich, not pastel, and the hand-illustrated gold and cream ginkgo leaf art gives it a quiet elegance. It’s built on a garment-dyed French terry base that’s milled in-house and sewn in LA.
The Ginkgo Leaf Tee in Deep Indigo carries the same artwork but with a darker edge. Made from heavyweight cotton and dyed in a deep indigo, it brings a bit of moodiness to the collection without losing the detail.
Lastly, the Yonsei Crewneck in Ivy pulls everything together. “Yonsei” references fourth-generation Japanese Americans, and this piece nods to that heritage with a minimal heat-stamped kanji “四” on the chest. It’s subtle, meaningful, and grounded in identity.
All pieces drop April 25th at 8:30 AM.
