What inspired the brand name?
I wanted to make a statement, something to show what I’m capable of. This is shown in the name of my brand.
At what moment did you realize you wanted to start a brand?
I’ve always loved clothing and have been into drawing and art since a child. I tried my hand at putting them together and I think it’s worked out well so far.
What helps you get over creative blocks?
Taking a break for a few days and just doing my usual schedule. I often find inspiration randomly and when I have design ideas it’ll often happen during class or when I’m not doing anything significant. I’ve never sat down with the intent of coming up with an idea, only when I’ve already had an idea and want to put it out.
What is the biggest mistake you have made?
In terms of mistakes I’ve had some errors with printing because I didn’t compensate for where I wanted the center of the print or the size. It just ends up with me being stupid and while the product looks fine it is not as I wanted it.
What is the biggest success you have had?
My initial drop sold like crazy and since then I’ve been able to sell out within the first night. I want to branch out into items such as jackets, pants, and more to create a whole spectrum of TAKE NOTE products.
A SOURCE OF INSPIRATION PEOPLE MAY FIND WEIRD?
I find a lot of inspiration from nature, skateboarding, music, and art. This all combines to create my pieces, and for every picture nature is in the back drop.
Favorite color to use?
Yellow, hands down it is my favorite and most palatable color. Yellow adds a lot to an outfit and can be used to make a statement. It is also the best summer color by far.
ARE THERE ANY RETAIL SHOPS YOU WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOU BRAND IN?
I would love to open my own flagship store, but it would be great to be sold in places like Bodega, however that’s quite a far time away.
ANOTHER BRAND THAT INSPIRES YOU AND WHY?
One of my favorite brands that I take a lot of inspiration from is OnlyNY. Their whole message behind the brand is amazing and the pieces they come out with is things everyone can wear.
Where do you see yourself and the brand in 1 year and 5 years?
I will be entering my junior year of high school in 1 year, and I hope to continue my brand while expanding into more pieces such as shorts and button downs hopefully. In 5 years I hope to be in FIT for fashion design, and I hope to be able to continue my brand in New York.
In 5 words or less describe your brand?
Take Note of the colors.
